Referring to Goedebuur?

Referrals to Goedebuur can be made via email (info@goedebuur.nl) or via ZorgDomein for fast and accurate digital referrals. For consultation about a referral, you can contact the administrative assistant by telephone at 06 – 34 27 42 57. We value good consultation and coordination with referrers.

It is important that the referral letter states whether it concerns a basic referral within the mental health care (BGGZ) or a specialist referral within the mental health care (SGGZ). In doing so, a suspicion of a DSM-5 disorder must be indicated. What is not mandatory, but does ease the referral process, is an explanation of the complaints and the course of the complaints.

At Goedebuur, we strive to help everyone. We look past diagnoses and other labels and provide individualized care. At the same time, we find it important to be honest about what we can and cannot offer. A client does not benefit from treatment that does not adequately meet their needs. We have therefore drawn up a number of guidelines to determine in which cases it is better to register for treatment not with us, but with another institution. We always try to think with you about an appropriate referral.

Guidelines

  • Intensive multidisciplinary treatments with high client involvement at Goedebuur.

Treatments at Goedebuur often consist of a pathway with multiple practitioners and sometimes two or more appointments during the week. This is because we believe that a person is often best helped by looking at symptoms from different perspectives and working toward recovery. We prefer shorter more intensive treatment to longer low-frequency treatment. This also requires something of the client. Someone who comes to us for treatment must therefore have a permanent residence, be able to make time for treatment and be physically able to come to the practice. If this is not possible then we cannot guarantee the desired quality of care.

  • Treatment of addiction problems in relation to main complaints and referral to specialized care in case of serious addiction.

For mild addiction problems that exist comorbid with the main problem, we can treat. For severe addiction problems that are prominent we refer to a specialized addiction treatment facility.

  • Holistic approach to physical and psychological complaints with referral for complex medical problems.

Physical and psychological problems often go hand in hand. Complaints in one area can be a source for symptoms in the other. We therefore apply a holistic approach, paying attention to both body and mind. However, we have no specialist medical knowledge. This means that if there are complex medical problems and the request for help is linked to this, we advise you to apply to institutions that specialize in this.

  • Treatment and referral of personality problems within mental health care.

In 30 to 50% of clients in the mental health system, personality problems are present. These are symptoms that are more entrenched in a person's character and manifest in multiple areas of life. We apply short-term interventions to personality problems, from different frames of reference, such as schema therapy, DGT and MBT. Moderate to severe personality problems require more intensive treatment than we can provide. These treatments often last longer (2 years) and usually include group therapy. We refer this to other specialized institutions.

  • Crisis assistance and referral to specialized institutions in case of high crisis sensitivity outside office hours.

Sometimes clients fall into a crisis. Acute help is then needed to accommodate someone, sometimes in the evening or at the weekend. It is not always predictable whether someone needs crisis care. If a client becomes in crisis with us, we work with the GP clinic and the crisis service to accommodate someone. However, we are not available outside office hours. This means that if there is clearly a high crisis sensitivity in advance and a need for more embedding, we refer to an institution with an internal crisis team.
